My fave item of the week.... Dermalogica Ultrarich Body Cream
For a while now I have been looking for a cream for my skin for my desperately dry skin. Its worst on my legs, and I suspect its because I need to drink more water. I recently spoke to a beauty therapist who recommended me to try The Dermalogica Ultrarich Body Cream; she too experienced extreme dry skin and it is always good to hear how good products are by personal recommendation. It is a little pricey at £38 a bottle, but it is a big old bottle, 473ml.
So before I committed I wrote to Dermalogica and they pointed me in the direction where I could obtain some sample so I could try before I committed to a massive bottle of the stuff.
I have to say, I was not disappointed. I used all the samples over 7 days and only on my left arm and leg to see if I could actually tell the difference. I most definitely could, and made an informed choice about the purchase! So far, I have to say I'm really pleased with it! So this is my fave product of the week!

Top 10 Make up.... 10. Last but by no means least... Powder
To fix it all in place... I used Chanel Natural Loose Powder. I've used the same one for a while now and I have to say I am really happy with it!
Top 10 Make up.... 9. Eyebrow Pencil
When I was 7, I very foolishly cut my eyebrow with scissors... why I don't know... but it never grew back and now I have the delightful daily ritual of painstakingly pencilling in my brow. But not only do I pencil in my little gap I also use pencil to create shape and definition to them too. My fave pencil is Clinique Superfine liner in Soft Brown.
Top 10 Make up.... 8. Concealer
I love love love love love Trish McEvoys Flawless Concealer. This stuff is amazeballs! Definitely my favourite! Ive got a couple that offer fuller coverage but for everyday disguise of my weary froggy eyes, this stuff definitely has a worthy spot on my top 10 can't live without Make Up products.

Top 10 Make up.... 7. Primers
So I live in the middle of Crazy town London, which plays havoc with anyones skin. Having to spend an hour a day underground getting to and from work does not give kindly. Hot and bothered!
I use Clinique City Sheer Block underneath my foundation which absorbs Oil and perspiration. Essentially it is a sunscreen but can be used as a primer. This locks in my foundation beautifully and it aids your foundation to staying on your face for longer.
There are a couple I use, for Oil absorption, including MAC Mattifying gel which is another fabulous product which absorbs straight into the skin.
In short the importance of a primer cannot be stressed enough. I was one of possibly many people who thought I should just slap on my foundation after moisturising; but all that does is apply a layer of foundation of a layer of grease and makes is slip off your face. Definitely moisturise but ensure you do it and leave a good interval before application of your makeup. Your primer will serve you well in the plight for a long lasting look :)

Top 10 Make up.... 5. Eyeliner
There are a lot of blogworthy liners out there, MAC Smoulder is another that is held in high regard, but for me I find it a little too soft, and consequently by the end of the night its running down my cheeks. The Urban Decay Glide On 24/7 liners are fab. They are lovely and soft, and it does exactly what it says on the tin! It glides on easily and stays in place for hours. Great stuff!
Top 10 Make up.... 4. Eyeshadow
Now... where do I start. As I mentioned in my post about the Classic Red... I have small lips, so I tend to play them down. But I have froggy eyes which, I like to play up. Therefore, eyeshadow is possibly one of the most important things to me.
I have loads of them. Mostly MAC, which I have pretty much managed to collect every single colour in their range (other than the special editions...which I only have a few... and even then I tend to buy the pallets). They are, hands down, in my honest opinion the market leaders in this area.
They have a great range of colours, the products have great pigment, and they last for ages!
As a close second, I have dabbled in the Urban Decay offerings, and their products are great too. I find the MAC range a little more vast the UD, but they have some great lines.
If you are new to makeup, or don't have the cash to splash on buying separate pans of colour, or just like them to be all in one place, or for any other reason (insert here); I highly recommend UD Naked Pallet. It has a great range of shades and again the application lasts a long time.
All in all, this was a great buy and I have also invested in the UD Naked Pallet 2. Both great products and a good addition to anyones makeup collection.

top 10 Make up.... 3. You have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find your perfect mascara
I am fortunate to have long eyelashes. But I find them lacking in volume, so for me, thats all I am really after. A good mascara that provides the volume and separation I need without being a clumpy mess. I also have eyelashes like Daisy the Cow in that they are long but flat, so I have regular eyelash perms to keep them in check. I will post a pic on here of them freshly permed and review where I have them done. This is currently Browhaus in Covent Garden which is also where I have my eyebrows keep in check. Link here to Browhaus.
Anyway, I digress.
I have tried a fair few mascaras over the years and there are two that I really love. The first is my 'going out' mascara. This is Bad Gal lash by Benefit, the packaging is not only cool and funky, but the product itself is outstanding. It has a massive brush which is possibly the biggest I've seen in a mascara, and the mascara itself is a lovely creamy consistency which is easy to apply. A couple of coats of this stuff and my lashes look not only 1000 percent volumised by they look pretty blooming awesome. For anyone out there with short long indifferent lashes, I think this would be a great treat to any look.
The second is YSL Volume Effect Mascara in Black. This is my day mascara as it gives a real delicate look to my eyelashes without over powering them. This is definitely a less is more product which is great as it means it lasts longer. I only use one coat on my lashes to give them definition for when Im at work or in the day time in general. In my line of work where it my makeup has to be as natural as possible, this mascara is perfect. Again, well worth a try.

Top 10 Make up.... 2. A good all rounder foundation is a must.
I am a foundation junkie. Fact. I have loads of them, different ones for time of year, condition of my skin and so on. But if you aren't into all that then having a good all rounder is a must! My all time favourite which I can rely upon whatever state my skin is in is Chanel Vitalumiere. As you can see I've used mine to within an inch of its life. But I hope this substantiates my position on this :)

Top 10 Make up.... 1. Its all about the classic Red!
I think a good staple to have in any glamazons makeup bag is a classic red lipstick and nail varnish. My two favourite and might I add, treasured said items are pictured below. Both Chanel.... yummy :) But... the cardinal rule of a red lip, is not to dress up the eye. I have all to often seen women with beautiful red lips somewhat understate with to daring an eye look. Keep it simple with a nude shadow, a slick of black liquid liner and a couple of coats of mascara on your lashes. The picture below has the look nailed to a tee. It comes from a brilliant blog called lovelyish.com :) Link to Lovelyish here!

My fave item of the week is..... Laura Mercier Lip Glace in Bon Bon
So... for a while now, I really wanted a nice Coral coloured lipstick or gloss. My lips are really small, so I don't often wear lipstick as most colours tend to make them look tiny, so I try stick with fairly natural colours. My inspiration was from one of my guilty pleasures; Sam Faiers from The Only Way is Essex. It spurred me into House of Fraser where I stumbled over this fabulous gloss.
For a gloss, its not to icky sticky, which sometimes is really irritating about them, lasts a very good length of time between applications and the colour is beautiful. Its got really good pigment, which in some glosses tends to be lost in translation and are often, I find, more translucent.
It was £18.50 from House of Fraser, but you can get it cheaper if you buy online. Trust me.... you will not be disappointed :)

Snaps to.... Uggs Australia Store, Covent Garden
I was saddened to find that my precious Short Chocolate Uggs had come away at the seam. Luckily I still had the receipt and they were 4 days away from the 12 month guarantee expiry! I took them to the Ugg store and explained that they were well looked after (you could tell they were loved...they were immaculate) and they said they would send them to Customer Services... Today, imagine my surprise when a lovely girl called me to tell me they have been exchanged for a brand new pair!
I was expecting a repair at best, so snaps to the Ugg Store, for being so generous where other stores...perhaps wouldn't!

Welcome :)
I have been meaning to start my own blog for some time now... I watch with great trepidation the other offerings the internet has to offer, and indeed I will be posting my TOP 10 favourite blogs in a later instalment. I thought I would start off by writing a small bit about me. Well I am me, and I am an avid follower or rather a slave to any latest beauty, makeup, fashion fad. I don't work in the industry in any way, in fact I probably have what most would describe as a 'job for the boys'. I am in fact a serving member of Her Majesty's Armed Forces. So when I take off the uniform, which, is not the most flattering admittedly; I thoroughly enjoy embracing all things glamourous. I sincerely hope you enjoy my blog.
